This isn’t your typical “started singing at a young age” story. For Kim Cho, music has been less about a straight path and more about repeatedly choosing the unknown over comfort.
In 2011, she made a life-changing decision to put music first. She joined a touring Top 40/rock cover band, left her day job behind, packed everything that fit into one suitcase, and moved solo to the Middle East. What began as a three-month contract evolved into a seven-year journey across the eastern hemisphere, performing over 2,500 shows while discovering new cultures, audiences, and creative perspectives.
Today, while still active as a high-energy performer in the party band scene, Kim Cho is focused on writing and co-producing her own original music. Her music blends alternative rock and dark pop influences shaped by emotionally charged performances, dynamic production, and cinematic undertones.
Balancing intensity, vulnerability, and raw energy, her vocal style has been compared to artists such as Dorothy, Bishop Briggs, Taylor Momsen, and Skylar Grey, though her music remains rooted in her own experiences and artistic identity.
At its core, Kim Cho’s music is driven by resilience, reinvention, and the refusal to give up, creating anthems for anyone who has ever felt out of place, struggled to find themselves, or fought to reclaim their voice.
